The Department of Population Health Sciences aims to improve healthcare policy and overall public health in a rapidly changing environment through rigorous, collaborative, data-driven research, novel educational programs, innovative technology, and high-quality research design consultation services.
The Division of Biostatistics was formed in October 2004, under the Medical College’s Strategic Plan for further development and retention of research scholars by fostering collaborations with biostatisticians and epidemiologists to further enhance and advance WCM research.

Statistics and Data Science faculty members and staff are committed to excellent training and instruction.
Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology
The Division of Gastroenterology and Hepatology in the Department of Medicine cares for patients with conditions that affect the digestive system or liver; researches and conducts clinical trials for diseases like hepatitis C, inflammatory bowel disease, and HIV; and recruits and trains the next generation of specialists in this field.
The Jill Roberts Institute for Research in Inflammatory Bowel Disease
The mission of the Jill Roberts Institute for Research in Inflammatory Bowel Disease (IBD) is to establish a multidisciplinary center of excellence that will accelerate new cutting-edge scientific discoveries at both the basic and translational levels, which collectively will advance innovative preventative and therapeutic approaches for IBD and other related inflammatory diseases.
